We provide compliance support and advisory solutions to investment and asset managers regulated or registered with the FCA and SEC. Our consultants have all held consulting and in-house compliance positions in the investment and asset management sector, bringing many years of practical experience and expertise to all of our client engagements.
We partner with our clients to build an engagement that fits with their regulatory requirements, the expectations of their investors and the capacity and expertise that they have in-house. We use our experience to recommend the right solution, but we are not tied to a menu of services – we will fit each client’s needs and expectations.
Our clients engage Judd for ongoing support on a retained basis, for distinct project work and/or a purely hourly basis. Please scroll down to explore further.

FCA and SEC On-Going Compliance Support
We provide an agreed scope of work to support or supplement our clients’ internal compliance arrangements. We are an extension of our clients’ compliance teams, undertaking a diverse range of tasks such as policy drafting, training, marketing material reviews, FCA and SEC filings and notifications, periodic compliance monitoring reviews and compliance advisory support.

Compliance Delivered
Our Compliance Delivered service provides outsourced UK Compliance Officer (FCA approved SMF 16) or compliance manager services. This can be included within a retained service or as a stand-alone service. This enables our clients to fill a temporary or longer-term gap in resources or to provide additional capacity to internal teams, in either compliance leadership roles or to help complete more routine compliance tasks such as maintaining records and completing monitoring.
Previous Projects include:
Interim Compliance Officer
The Judd consultant acted as a 6 month bridge between the outgoing and incoming SMF 16 for a MiFID investment manager, to ensure the transfer of institutional knowledge and a seamless transition.
Compliance Retainer
Worked with a client to devise a compliance retainer comprised of the services they felt would be most beneficial for them, bearing in mind the nature of their business and the resources available to them. One size does not fit all.

Launch Services
Judd’s launch service includes managing the client’s FCA authorisation and SEC registration application, building the compliance programme to meet regulator and investor expectations and establishing its effectiveness. We have worked with new businesses for over twenty years and so recognise the need to bring a commercial, pragmatic and entrepreneurial mindset to the relationship.

Regulatory Healthchecks / thematic reviews
To check the firm’s readiness for a visit from the regulator or investor due diligence.

Regulatory Change Management
Helping clients to interpret and understand the impact of regulatory change, and to amend existing or implement new policies and procedures comfortably within deadlines (e.g. SMCR and Consumer Duty)

Principal Self-Assessment and Appointed Representative Review
Judd can co-ordinate and manage the principal firm’s annual self-assessment and formal review of each appointed representative, providing independence and expertise to the review. We can also provide assistance to firms who are considering taking on appointed representatives, including due diligence and training.

Compliance Policy and Procedure
Judd can review and, to the extent necessary, update existing policies and procedures for adherence to regulatory requirements and observed industry best practice. We can also draft new regulatory policy documentation as required, ensuring that the policies and procedures are tailored for the client.
Previous Projects include:
FCA Permissions review
Judd was engaged by our client to review their current business, client engagement and future strategy plans and to map that activity against their FCA licence.
Regulatory due diligence
Judd were appointed by the would-be acquirer of a UK regulated investment management business to undertake regulatory due diligence on the target prior to acquisition.
Policy and monitoring remediation
Judd worked with a UK AIFM to review, update and implement policies and complete monitoring for the previous 18 months. We restructured the client’s off the shelf materials and monitoring arrangements so that they reflected the firm’s business and regulatory risk.

Hourly Support
We can provide all of the above services on a purely hourly basis. This enables our clients to leverage the experience and breadth of the Judd team as required. We have no minimum contract amounts.
If the services outlined above don’t quite address your requirements, please feel free to email us at judd@juddadvisory.com for a no obligation conversation.
